'Leamington 2007' a Brilliant Success ! Twenty-nine (29) European countries, their national representatives and coaches with thousands of enthusiastic supporters crowding round the 1km closed circuit were treated to a feast of race walking - the finest display ever seen in Great Britain.
250 of the finest race walkers in Europe battled it out for individual and team glory giving the crowd enough action and drama to keep them enthralled. The fitness of the athletes and their excellent style only added to the spectacle, as they battled it out on a beautiful sun drenched day.
Amongst those ones who helped promote this event Warwick District Council must be singled out for a superb venue and arranging the excellent weather!
Also worthy of special mention are the 'Title Partners' Integrated Hydraulics and NP Aerospace and the officials, judges, recorders and announcers who made the events run so smoothly and efficiently.
The organising committee were magnificent, receiving plaudits from all countries for their slick, smooth organisation with their band of volunteer helpers who were everywhere fetching, carrying helping wherever needed.
